1872 Two-Cent Piece. FS-101. Doubled Die Obverse. MS-64 RB (PCGS). Flashes of pretty rose-orange luster enhance otherwise warmly patinated, medium copper surfaces. Satiny in texture and overall smooth, this is a conditionally rare survivor of the key date 1872 two-cent piece, an issue with just 65,000 circulation strikes produced. Obverse doubling is most readily evident on the letters in the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, this feature confirming the coin's appeal for variety as well as date purposes. PCGS# 38293.
