- 1854 Gold Dollar. Type II. MS-63+ (PCGS). CAC.
This is a superior Choice example of the brief and conditionally challenging Type II gold dollar of 1854 to 1856. Satiny in texture with handsome golden-orange patina, both sides possess uncommonly full striking detail that even extends to the centers. The often-seen clash marks are nearly absent, and the in hand appearance is smooth enough to suggest an even higher grade. Eagerly awaiting inclusion in an advanced gold type set.
PCGS# 7531. NGC ID: 25C3.
Provenance: From the Alexander Collection.
