We love this absolutely SUPERB GEM! This actually looks more like a toned 08-S then the majority of 09-S's we have ever seen! Virgin surfaces are ultra clean and are satiny smooth. Using a strong glass all you can find are a few light frost breaks; there are NO hidden lines or scuffs. For a 1909-S the luster is bold and both sides enjoy a gorgeous mix of totally original orange/deep yellow gold colors. There are NO spots or discolorations anywhere. Miss Liberty and every detail are fully struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 4, NGC 3, CAC 2. PCGS has graded only 2 coins in MS66+. PCGS has graded one MS67 (NO CAC) finer. The coin offered here last sold in August 2013 for $55,812. The last regular MS66 to sell in auction-2008! We can NOT stress enough how extremely rare this date is in true GEM. Even the #1 all-time Hall of Fame Set- the Simpson Collection- only has a MS66.
