Lot Description
FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION Another excessively rare R-7+ three cent nickel pattern, struck in aluminum from regular issue Proof dies. Sold in sets of all denominations from cent to double eagle these "die trial" or off metal coins are really cool. The present coin is one of less than a handful known and second FINEST known. Nicely reflective fields are bold and GEM quality, devoid of any of the issues that often plague aluminum planchets. The eye appeal is wonderful. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. Only one other example is graded higher a PR66. This coin sold for nearly $10,000 in the 2014 FUN auction and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $9,500. A wonderful and RARE pattern. Cert. Number 25532235 PCGS # 61038.00
