- 1834 Classic Head Half Eagle. HM-2. Rarity-4. Plain 4. AU-55 (PCGS). CAC. A richly original example with a few subtle glints of pinkish-rose iridescence to otherwise dominant golden-olive patina. According to Daryl J. Haynor (United States Classic Gold Coins of 1834-1839, 2020), this scarce die pairing accounts for only 6% of extant examples of the first year 1834 Classic Head half eagle.
