O-108A. EX COL. GREEN- NEWMAN. Well struck and lustrous, this pleasing example was off the market for years in the vast holdings of Col. Green and then to Eric Newman. Like many of the coins from the Col. Green Collection, the centers are brilliant and the rims are beautifully toned. PCGS 59, NGC 70. This lovely coin brought $6,463 in the November 2013 Newman Collection sale, and more recently $4,465 in January 2015. How cool is it that this nearly GEM quality coin, from one of the most popular classic U.S. series, has been in two of the most fabled collections of U.S. coins, and that it is within the budget of most collectors.
