Lot Description

1840 Braided Hair Cent. N-5. Rarity-1. Large Date. MS-64 RB (PCGS). OGH Rattler. Traces of original mint color remain in the protected areas of the design, with rich cartwheel luster on both sides. A couple of faint flecks are seen on each side, but there are no distracting marks or abrasions. This date, and those cents struck between 1840 and 1843 in general, are very difficult to find in finer grades. PCGS# 1821. NGC ID: 2266. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
