- Handsome cobalt blue and copper-apricot peripheral iridescence frames brilliant centers, the latter areas readily revealing a boldly cameoed finish from the dies. Those same dies imparted razor sharp definition throughout the design. Last of the collectible trade dollar issues, and a Proof-only affair, the 1883 is a perennial favorite among Proof type collectors.
