- FROM THE EUEL DURWOOD JONES COLLECTION Ex S.S. Central America #2. A lustrous Brilliant Uncirculated example of this popular Shipwreck date double eagle. Housed in the larger holder featuring a pinch of gold from the recovery of the S.S. Central America, this coin sat at the bottom of the Atlantic off the coast of the Carolinas. The details are crisply rendered and there is no wear anywhere on the surfaces. Some minor, scattered marks and microscopic wispy lines account for the assigned grade. This one has great look for the assigned grade. PCGS has graded just 26 of the Bold S variety in MS61 from the second recovery and only one has ever sold in auction, realizing $6,000 over three years ago. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,250. Worthy of a strong bid. Cert. Number 34788895 PCGS # 670715
