- 1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony Oak Tree Shilling. Noe-3, W-450. Rarity-6. IN at Left. Good-4 Scratched, Heavily Clipped.
37.04 grains. Golden-gray with some deeper highlights throughout. Well-worn and clipped to about the weight of a sixpence -- judging from the wear, the present coin probably circulated as a sixpence at some point. Top of the tree and a few peripheral letters are seen on the obverse, the reverse with a partial date and denomination as well as a few peripheral letters, X scratched at center. A suitable filler example of a rare variety.
PCGS# 45361.
