Lot Description

Fully rendered with abundant, soft satin luster, this endearing Gem also sports lovely color in pinkish-tan. There are no marks or other blemishes of consequence on this highly desirable Mint State type candidate from the brief circulation strike Flying Eagle cent series of 1857 to 1858. The High Leaves reverse of the 1858 was probably coined from leftover dies of 1857, and accounts for fewer than 50% of survivors of the former issue.
