Lot Description

1860 Liberty Seated Dime. Proof-65 Cameo (PCGS). A mostly untoned example that does reveal blushes of iridescent medium rose toning in isolated peripheral areas, especially on the obverse in the date area. Nicely contrasted in finish, with smooth, delightful, Gem quality surfaces. This date is much scarcer in proof format than an original mintage of 1,000 pieces might suggest, as many examples were melted in the Mint when they failed to sell to contemporary collectors.
