A highly significant offering for advanced collectors of late date large cents, this is the single finest PCGS-certified example of the 1847 Large/Small 7 variety. It represents the scarce Newcomb-18 die pairing, of which Bob Grellman (2021) states: "Seven seen in Mint State; only one has a significant amount of mint red remaining, two others have traces of mint red still visible."
