Lot Description

Dusted with light silver-olive toning, the surfaces are generally pristine with strong mint luster overall. Sharply struck in all but a few isolated areas. Despite a considerably higher mintage (992,000 vs. 604,000 pieces), the 1914-S is just as scarce as the 1913-S in the finer Mint State grades and almost equal in high grade scarcity to the more renowned 1915. A highlight of the Barber half dollar offerings in this sale.
