- 1844 Seated Liberty Silver Dollar. MS-61 (PCGS). A very popular issue with Silver Dollar aficionados, the 1844 Seated has a limited mintage of just 20,000 business strikes. A conditionally rare Mint State survivor, the coin we offer here is sharply struck with no singularly distracting abrasions. Both sides are awash in rich, even, lavender-charcoal patina that, at direct angles, reveals glints of cobalt-blue undertoning in isolated areas.<br /> Of note to the variety collector is the fact that all business strike 1844 Seated Dollars exhibit quad stripes in the obverse shield due to a doubled die.
