- Lot Description
- With a tinge of light pinkish-rose to otherwise medium honey-olive surfaces. More than 650,000 1834 Classic Head half eagles were coined between August 1 and the end of the year, the largest mintage of any issue of the Classic Head type. Most were the Plain 4 variety, as here. Though plenty of these survived, even in premium Choice About Uncirculated pieces such as this are scarce relative to the demand they enjoy among discerning gold type collectors.
