Lot Description

A wonderful survivor of this Antebellum date, just below the apex of the grading report. Beautifully toned with rich shades of slate-blue, olive-tan, gold, and gray-rose on the obverse; the reverse is dominated by a broad swath of teal blue. The sharply struck devices and satiny underlying luster add to this near-GEM's exceptional eye appeal! PCGS 19, NGC 14, CAC 7. This was the only CAC-approved example to ever sell in auction, last selling over six years ago--that is forever ago! The last MS64 graded by PCGS sold for $2,820 in a weak 2015 FUN auction--and that coin was unevenly toned. VERY RARE any finer, making this MS64 a great price and grade point for advanced collectors.
