Lot Description

Deep, even color in tobacco-brown with some lighter golden-brown engaging the high points. Uniform microgranularity is present, but there are few significant marks, and not that immediately assail the eye. Most of the design elements are present, although several of the letters in the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA cannot be discerned. Despite having seen considerable circulation, the present piece still has much to offer and should do well when it enters the auction aren as it makes both this key date issue and challenging die pairing accessible to a wider audience of collectors. We anticipate spirited bidding on this lot.
