1839 N-4 R1 Silly Head PCGS graded MS66 Brown, CAC Approved.Beautiful lustrous medium steel and light olive brown. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highest points of the devices, and the eye appeal is outstanding. No spots or stains, only a few minor marks. A tiny nick-like planchet flake midway between the chin and star 1 and another near the hair under the right point of star 7 can help identify this cent. There is also a very light rim bruise above star 5 and another right of star 13, but these marks are difficult to see in the slab. The reverse is flawless. M-LDS. The tiny dashes near the dentil tips under either side of the 9 seen in the early die state are now gone. A very nice example of the "Silly Head" type. Our grade is MS63.The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; none finer at PCGS for the variety.Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
