Losbeschreibung: One of the FINEST examples of the TOP 50 Peace dollar VAM varieties. The doubling is mostly noted on the olive branch. What makes this GEM 35-S is not just the variety, but the intriguing and UNIQUE toning pattern that developed on the obverse. Words will fail to adequately describe the ring of deep color that forms a collar around Liberty's portrait. The central obverse is untoned, highlighted by the surrounding aubergine and gold tones. The eye appeal is spectacular. PCGS 786, NGC 402, CAC 158. PCGS has graded just four examples of this VAM-4 in MS65 with just two finer in MS66.
