1856 Liberty Head Eagle. MS-60 (NGC). An attractive yellow-gold example with tinges of khaki-green patina evident as the surfaces dip into a light. Boldly struck over the focal features with suitable vibrancy to satiny mint luster. Although the 1856 is one of the more obtainable Liberty eagles from the 1850s, it remains scarce in an absolute sense with Mint State coins rare. Provenance: Ex Granite Lady Hoard. PCGS# 8619.
