A FRESH to the market GEM Proof, contained in an old estate collection until consigned to this sale. Highly reflective fields are glassy and smooth. They beam boldly on both sides. The devices are sharply struck and they do stand out with a light contrast, but they are mostly a glossy-reflective texture, rather than a thicker frosty texture. The eye appeal is very nice. Only 160 Proofs were struck. PCGS 13, NGC 6. The last one sold in the 2013 FUN auction, realizing $14,100 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $15,000. Nothing finer has sold since 2012! A rarity that rarely appears in auction in this high a grade and bound for a wonderful gold type set or specialized set of Proof quarter eagles. Cert.
