1849-D Gold Dollar. Winter 1-A. AU-50 (PCGS). A second About Uncirculated example of this historic die pairing in the Dahlonega Mint gold dollar series. Boldly to sharply defined overall, softness to the central obverse high point represents a combination of characteristic (for the issue) incompleteness of strike and light wear that helps to explain the AU-50 grade from PCGS.
