1919-D Mercury Dime. MS-66 (PCGS). An incredible premium Gem with splashes of gold and champagne iridescence painted across pearlescent surfaces. The luster is intensely satiny and undisturbed by blemishes of any sort. With a mintage of 9,939,000 pieces, the 1919-D dime is common in circulated grades but becomes a significant rarity in higher Mint State grades. The present piece is among the finest examples known, sharing the present grade with 6 other pieces at PCGS and none are certified finer in any designation.
