Richly original honey-orange surfaces are further enhanced by wisps of pinkish-rose and powder blue iridescence. Boldly to sharply defined with nice luster for the grade. Mintage for the 1891-S double eagle amounted to 1,288,125 pieces, up more than 485,000 coins from the preceding year's tally at the West Coast mint.
