Lot Description

Nicholas Jackson Collection. Overton-103, "4 over various dates". Allegedly, the "4' was recut over both a two and a zero, but some researchers doubt this is fully accurate. Early strikes are sometimes found with very sharp details while this later (probably) example has minor softness, especially within a few obverse stars. Turquoise-grey, lilac-orange and aqua overtones play over the entire obverse and suggest a high degree of original quality.
