Lot Description
1798 Draped Bust Cent. S-184. Rarity-1. Style II Hair. EF-45 (PCGS). A boldly defined and inviting example, the obverse of which is actually quite sharp and toned in rich steely-copper and medium brown patina. The reverse is lighter overall with a splash of olive-gray to dominant autumn-brown. A trivial nick in the lower right obverse field is the only singularly mentionable blemish. Breen Die State III. Provenance: Ex McIntire Numismatic Auctions' sale of the Roy Rauch Collection, June 1988, lot 3; Roy Rauch, July 1988; Del Bland; Dr. Robert J. Shalowitz; Chris Victor-McCawley, November 1988; Superior's sale of the Robinson S. Brown, Jr. Collection, January 1996, lot 251; Tom Reynolds; Heritage's sale of the Walter Husak Collection, February 2008 Long Beach Signature Auction, lot 2187; Victor Scheide, January 7, 2011; Heritage's sale of the COL Steve Ellsworth Die State Collection, September 2013 Long Beach Signature Auction, lot 4720.
