FEW AND FAR BETWEEN are the opportunities to obtain this coin in Choice AU condition. Lustrous fields are mostly brilliant at the centers but are ringed by lovely electric navy blue and fiery orange hues around both obverse and reverse borders. One mark in the left obverse field beneath star 5 is noted for accuracy. Fully struck design elements, which is unusual for the issue. There is a small area of weakness on the hair curls behind Liberty's eye, but this is due to light circulation and wear. Interestingly, there are more Mint State pieces available than choice circulated coins. If you are building a nice collection of AU Capped Bust dimes, you might want to take note of this lovely piece. PCGS 17, NGC 10. The PCGS Price Guide is $1,350.
