We love it when a SUPERB GEM Columbian Expo half dollar is consigned. As the first classic commemorative half dollar issued, it is a very popular issue, and despite one of the largest mintages of the entire series, relatively few survive so fine. Excellent surface quality with clean, lustrous fields that flash through a rich layer of totally original blue/gray patina. The strike is sharp and the devices stand out against the fields. The eye appeal is very pleasing. PCGS 41, NGC 47, CAC 29. The PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $4,500 and the CAC CPG value is $5,810. None have sold in four and half years, the most recent PCGS/CAC example selling in June 2018. Just 15 are graded higher, and anything finer will cost over $10,000. Bound for a great set. Cert.
