- 1929 Mercury Dime. MS-68 * FB (NGC). Although this is a fairly nondescript issue in lower Mint State grades, the 1929 Mercury Dime is presently unique in MS-68 Full Bands. This obviously important piece--the finest known for the issue--is also remarkably vivid in tone. The colors are too numerous to delineate individually, but the more vivid shades include sea-green, salmon-pink and reddish-orange. Razor sharp in strike, with full, softly frosted luster that is undisturbed by even a single trivial blemish. A one-of-a-kind coin for the issue, and a rare bidding opportunity for the Mercury Dime collector assembling a set of "finest knowns."
