Lot Description

1786 Connecticut Copper. Miller 5.4-O.1, W-2590. Rarity-2. Mailed Bust Left. VF-30 (PCGS). Pale golden-brown on both sides. Obverse and reverse surfaces lightly granular, not disturbingly so. Obverse lightly flawed across base of effigy's bust, reverse more heavily flawed at the upper right border, reaching in to touch the back of the seated figure's head. Some lighter, more shallow flaws also visible at the center on the latter side. Exact die states uncertain, the obverse soft on the effigy's chest, and at the border above the head; reverse appears largely perfect save for some disturbance below the letters IN in INDE.
