- 1917 Buffalo Nickel. FS-801 (FS-016.4). Doubled Die Reverse. VF-35 (NGC). An original mid-grade survivor, both sides exhibit light olive and sandy-tan highlights to otherwise silver-gray features. Boldly defined for the grade, and distraction free apart from a few faint planchet streaks over the lower half of the obverse. Look to the letters in the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the denomination FIVE CENTS for evidence of doubling on the reverse.
