- 1870 Pattern Quarter. Judd-915, Pollock-1011. Rarity-7-. Proof-63 BN (PCGS). A rare pattern issue that is seldom offered. The present example shows mottled brown and violet hues with lighter splashes in the fields while the devices and areas immediately surrounding show deeper brown hues. A few light contact marks and hairlines are present. PCGS has graded a maximum of five examples as noted in their <em>Population Report </em>in all grades. Struck in copper with a plain edge.
