1931-D Mercury Dime. FS-101. Doubled Die Obverse. MS-66 FB (PCGS). Boldly lustrous, brilliant and sharply struck, this piece would be a prize on its own for a Mercury dime enthusiast. However, close examination reveals moderate spread on the obverse legends and date, the hallmarks of the FS-101 variety. PCGS has certified just nine examples in all grades, and only one finer.
