Lot Description

1889 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-64 Cameo (PCGS). Sharp cameo contrast between crisply frosted device and mirrored fields is clearly visible despite light gold toning at centers that gradually deepens to light purple and electric blue at the peripheries of both sides, the reverse noticeably more vividly toned and boasting a swath of bright magenta at upper left. True circulation strikes are very scarce, given a mintage of just 12,000 pieces, making a singularly appealing Proof specimen like this one a very good alternative.
