1853-C Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter-1. Die State I. VF-25 (PCGS). CAC. A deep honey-gold example with uniformly bold VF detail to both sides. A heavily circulated issue, the 1853-C half eagle is scarcer than its mintage of 65,571 coins might imply. With the typical survivor well worn and often impaired, this fully original mid grade example represents a significant bidding opportunity for the discerning Southern gold enthusiast.
