A condition rarity (yes) in this grade, this heavily worn 1874-CC represents an attractive entry point into the challenging Carson City Mint ten-dollar eagle series. Peripheral detail is soft to absent, but the date and mintmark are bold, Liberty's portrait and the eagle well outlined. Likely a pocket piece, as the surfaces are impressively smooth and well composed at the AG-3 level. If only coins like this could talk!
