1861-S Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-9. Rarity-2. Large S. MS-63 (PCGS). Brilliant apart from pale champagne-gold iridescence, this endearing piece delivers full satin luster and razor sharp striking detail. A heavily circulated issue, as are all San Francisco Mint half dollars of the 1860s, most of the 939,500 examples produced for the 1861-S were used extensively until worn out or lost.
