Beautifully Toned Choice Proof 1869 Silver Dollar 1869 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. Proof-64+ (PCGS). CAC. The obverse of this Choice Proof silver dollar exhibits mottled crimson-charcoal peripheral toning around an olive-gray center. The target-toned reverse is golden-copper, steel blue and mauve-gray. A full strike and nicely mirrored finish are also present. Survivors of this 600-Proof issue are scarce to rare in Choice and finer grades, as here, and such pieces enjoy heightened demand due to the elusiveness of Mint State silver dollars of this date.
