1849-D Gold Dollar. Winter 1-A. AU-50 (PCGS). As the most plentiful Dahlonega Mint Gold Dollar and a first-year issue, the 1849-D is an immensely popular coin for mintmarked gold type purposes. A very appealing AU, both sides are lightly worn over a bold-to-sharp strike. Even medium-gold color with flashes of luster shining forth from the protected areas around the peripheries.
