Lightly toned, bold cartwheel luster contrasts softly frosted devices with semi-reflective fields. Sharply struck to further enhance the cameo-like visual effect. While a seemingly common issue with a mintage figure of more than 4.1 million coins, the 1898-S is very scarce in Gem, especially with a Prooflike designation, of which this MS-65+ PL is among the finest examples graded by PCGS. A wonderful piece worthy of the most sophisticated collection.
