Lot Description

From an original mintage of 51,000, the 53-O is the third most plentiful New Orleans Mint ten in an absolute sense. However, this is a conditionally challenging date in Mint State (neither service has graded an example finer than MS-62), so many collectors opt for high grade AU examples. This NGC-graded example offers just some light honest wear on both sides and is devoid of any serious marks of any kind. Pleasing olive and gold tones attest to the originality of this specimen. Rare any finer, this is a great coin for any southern branch mint gold collector.
