Lot Description
1899-S Barber Dime. MS-66 (PCGS). Handsome Gem surfaces are splashed with mottled toning of steel-russet and champagne-gold. With a full strike and silky smooth appearance, this is one of the finest examples of the issue available to today's advanced Barber dime enthusiasts. After only the 1893-S, the 1899-S is the most available San Francisco Mint Barber dime from the 1890s. It is still a conditionally challenging issue, however, with Gems such as this rare. PCGS# 4820. NGC ID: 23EB. PCGS Population: 14; 13 finer (MS-67 finest). Provenance: From the Frog Run Farm Collection.
