An outstanding example, the surfaces are lightly toned in silver and gold iridescence. The devices are blanketed in satiny luster which contrasts the deep reflectivity in the fields. Among the finer certified for the date, and sure to sell for a strong premium. Second-to-last of the regular issue Trade dollars, and a Proof-only issue with a mintage of 979 pieces, the 1883 enjoys particularly strong demand as a high grade type coin.
