- Crescents of intense reddish-rose and sandy-orange peripheral toning frame otherwise silver-tinged surfaces. Minted for five years, the Boone Bicentennial half dollar saw production from 1934 to 1938. Designed by Augustus Lukeman, the obverse bears the portrait of Daniel Boone, while the reverse shows Boone with a depiction of Chief Black Fish. The Philadelphia Mint's 1936-dated issue is a rare find in certified grades above the basal MS-67 level, this upper end Superb Gem one of our finest offerings for the issue in recent decades.
