Lot Description

With subtle rode undertones to otherwise dominant steely-copper color. Struck from a fatigued state of these dies, there are flow lines here and there around the peripheries, and the denticulation is incomplete. Central detail is bold, nonetheless, with only light wear overall. Fine scratches on Liberty's cheek, bust and in the left obverse field will require magnification to discern; these features are mentioned here for accuracy. Well known as a conditionally challenged design type, the Classic Head cent is always in demand in certified AU grades.
