Lot Description: 1937 Buffalo Nickel. Proof-66 Cameo (NGC). An exceptional strike rarity for this final year Proof Buffalo nickel issue, both sides exhibit outstanding contrast between mirrored fields and satiny design elements. Fully struck with a virtually pristine appearance to untoned surfaces. The brilliant finish that the Mint used to produce the Proof 1937 nickel issue nearly precluded the existence of cameoed specimen. We say "nearly" because a very few full cameo examples are known, as here. Rare and worthy of serious bidder consideration. NGC Census: 2; 3 finer in this category (Proof-67+ Cameo finest).
