1862 Seated Liberty Half Dime. Proof-66 Cameo (PCGS). CAC. Bright, mirrored fields support sharply struck-up devices on both sides of this awe-inspiring proof. The surfaces present as untoned although a tiny amount of hazy patina is present at certain light angles. There are no bothersome handling marks, and the validity of the Gem grade seems assured in our minds. While not a rare issue in terms of total number of coins believed extant, the proof 1862 half dime represents a scarce find in the highest grades.
