- Lot Description
- Warm silver-gold with deeper highlights at the rims and among the devices. A few light marks are present, none of which affect the overall aesthetics. Struck in 1838 in New Orleans before the new obverse dies with stars reached that facility – along with the dime under the same circumstances, New Orleans produced two one-year-only silver types that year. A solid coin for the grade, and a piece that would fit in nicely in a mid-grade type set. PCGS #4314
