Lot Description
1874-CC Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Arrows. WB-3. Rarity-4. EF-40 (PCGS). Pale dove-grey across both sides with tinges of bronze and gold patina near the border. Evenly worn and nicely defined, free from any distracting abrasions. This reverse die is readily identified by a sharp raised die gouge behind the eagle's head above the eye, called a "cowlick" by Bill Bugert. Very scarce, and rarer than the 1873-CC Arrows, the 1874-CC is a heavily circulated Seated half with just 59,000 pieces produced. Most examples are heavily worn or plagued by surface problems, making this bold problem-free example a desirable find. PCGS# 6347. NGC ID: 24LB. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
